Arc Minutes

A certain kind of relativistic order prevails in the compositions of many of these paintings; a lone subject surrounded by a unified object, a dot in the middle of a great circle, and an impenetrable division of space by an illusory horizon line.  It is not the romantic notion of the lone protagonist against the world that interests me, but rather the experience of navigating our position in the world by the stubborn and insistent pole star of our own perception.
